WARRIOR

With eyes no longer eagle sharp
He scans across this modern land
And remembers a long distant past...
A greener earth not brick and sand;
He pictures trails that he once rode… Clean mountain streams, where were they… Forest homes of bear, deer and elk?
And his once proud people, driven away?
Time trades progress, but loses more…
His youth, his life…so with a sigh,
He turns his back on yesterday,
And waits for death; time’s passed him by!
